About once every 12-18 months a new round of reality television shows appear on our TV’s.  Some of them are outstanding, catch on and come back for seconds, while others fade away quietly never to be heard from again.  The writers strike prompted the latest new wave of reality television shows some of which are searched for quite frequently…much to our surprise.

Wipeout To Feature Wild Obstacle Course

According to an ABC promotional release, the new reality series Wipeout will feature the wildest obstacle course ever seen on TV.  Endemol USA recently began production on the series in Los Angeles, and the show is set to premiere on Tuesday, June 24 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET on ABC.

Wipeout will feature twenty-four contestants, who will take part in the world’s largest extreme obstacle course.  The contestants will be of all ages, shapes, and sizes.  The competition will last for a total of four rounds.  The winner will earn the title of “Wipeout Champion” and a grand prize of $50,000.

Every week, Wipeout will feature twenty-four new contestants and all new courses.  The obstacles have names like “Dizzy Dummy,” “Dirty Balls,” and “The Dreadmill.”  In “The Dreadmill,” contestants jump over hurdles on a forty foot long treadmill.  J
