Make Me a Supermodel: America Loves Holly!

April 3, 2008 08:47:26 by Lisa_Stauber

Make Me A SupermodelAmerica has voted. Who will be the next Supermodel? It’s time to find out… almost. First the models must be put through their paces. Niki reminds the models what is at stake. The grand prize is a contract with New York Model Management, $100,000, and a pictorial in GQ Magazine.

Now it’s time for the models to see what a day is like for a supermodel. They are given a map, a schedule, and some money and sent out on some go-sees. “I’m more worried about actually trying to find the place than the casting,” Perry says, as he asks for directions.

Ben is sent to Esprit. Shawan Johnson tells him what she expects from the brand’s face. “A little bit of sex appeal, but still wholesome.” Jennifer Starr is on hand to help out, and after a whispered bit of coaching (“Smile!”) Ben does well. “I would hire Ben,” Shawan says. Ben’s second stop is a little strange. Not only is he modeling pink-trimmed underwear, but the designers for Ginch Gonch want him to take a banana and act like a monkey. “Are you kidding me?” Ben asks, privately. He gamely does his best Curious George, but it’s half hearted.

Perry’s first stop didn’t have much feedback to give him, and he leaves not knowing if he was good or bad. Perry’s second stop finds him a bit too chatty. “Whether I would want to listen to him again for twenty minutes, is a different question,” the photographer says.

Holly hits Esprit as well, and Shawan Johnson loves her. “Holly is beautiful,” she says. “Actually had the best first impression.” Holly’s next stop is a reading for a hair coloring product. The casting director thinks she’s pretty, but notes, “She needs voice lessons desperately.”

Ronnie’s day is a mixed bag as well. Initially he shows up for Beeson, and designer Rebecca Beeson doesn’t like him. “My first impression is not favorable.” Ronnie finds a fan in the Ginch Gonch designers, though, and has fun playing with the banana. They ask him if he’s comfortable being touched by other men – I think they’ve found their new spokesperson!

It’s a whirlwind of fun cramming everything into the last couple of days. Jennifer Starr has arranged for another real supermodel to come visit. Jessica Stam has a cozy chat with the four contestants. Holly’s entranced, as Jessica is her idol. Turns out, Jessica grew up on a farm in Canada. Wonder if they have squirrel gravy up there? Maybe Holly can trade her famous recipe. Perry pipes up to ask how Jessica handles relationships, and if they are affected by fame. I think his girlfriend situation is weighing on his mind.

Niki scoops the models up and sends them to GQ’s headquarters, where she tells them to make a good impression. Perry is surprisingly difficult to fit, and Adam Rapoport, the GQ style director, decides suits are not the look for him. Ben is given an athletic outfit, but comes off looking stiff. Holly goes through three dresses before they find the right one. “The guys want sexy. I don’t know if she has it in her,” Adam says. Ronnie is immediately home in a Ralph Lauren outfit, but Adam votes on Perry as his favorite.

That night, there are some surprise visitors. April, Ben’s wife shows up – and meets Ronnie. There’s no hard feelings, though. Ronnie’s mom Charlene appears, and Ray arrives with a gift for his fiancée, Holly. Perry opens the door to find wayward girlfriend Amanda Pagel. She professes her love and seals it with a kiss, but refuses to answer any questions about her relationship with Britney’s ex-boyfriend. The couples bond, Ronnie flirts with Perry’s girlfriend (relax, Perry, she’s safe with him!), and the lovers say a tearful goodbye. They are all prepared to move to New York to help their modeling loved ones pursue their dreams, though.

Time for a last catwalk. The models strut their stuff stress free, and Holly does a fabulous editorial pose. Time to find out who America loves the most!

Perry is the first to go. He’s a little stunned that he was eliminated before Holly. Tyson doesn’t mince words, either, for the next elimination. “Ben, Ronnie, the Bromance is over. One of you is leaving the catwalk.” Tyson pauses for effect, then tells Ben his time on the runway is up.

Now it’s down to Holly and Ronnie. Niki compliments them both, and announces Holly wins. Holly is happy, and crying. Corey welcomes her to New York Modeling Agency, and gets ready to make the next Supermodel!

Make Me a Supermodel: Reunited!

March 27, 2008 08:48:16 by Lisa_Stauber

Make Me A SupermodelThis week is a Make Me A Supermodel Reunion. Host Andy Cohen read e-mails and asked questions of the eliminated models, and the final four.

The ten previously eliminated models have been in lock-down, and only recently have they been able to see the show. Most were surprised at how they were portrayed, and Dominic is still complaining about the shoes he had to wear on the runway. Carry a grudge much, Dom?

The final four - Ben, Ronnie, Perry, and Holly - arrive. The girls all get hugs, but Holly purposely ignores all the guys. Of course, talk immediately turns to Ben and Ronnie’s Bromance. The other models all seem to think the guys’ relationship has contributed to their success. “It’s helped propel them,” Dominic says. “The public loves them,” Jacki adds.

Andy wonders what the inmates at Ben’s jail think of the whole situation. “Do they have Bravo at the jail?” he asks. “Yeah, they do,” Ben replies, but he doesn’t care what the jailbirds think about his friendship with Ronnie. He gives us the Deep Thought of the night. “It’s good to be open-minded and bad to be ignorant.”

Ben can’t resist a jab at Holly. When asked if he would kiss Ronnie, he replies, “Well, if I can make out with Holly, I can make out with anybody.” Ronnie claims he’s over Ben and they are just friends, but seems quite pleased to find out Bravo is selling “Bronnie” t-shirts on their website.

The next question is for Casey, about his fear of snakes. While he tries to answer, judge Niki Taylor sneaks up behind him with Lemon, the giant boa in question. Casey is brave, though, and wears the snake for the camera.

Andy has a question for the judges. “Tyson, who do you think has improved the most?” Tyson doesn’t hesitate to choose Ben, even though he admits that Perry is his favorite. Niki thinks Ronnie has evolved the most as a model.

The infamous Serenades show up in a series of clips. Perry, Ben, Ronnie, and Casey are embarrassingly bad singers, but they don’t seem to mind. “We have a hit album. It’s 45 tracks in under ten minutes,” Casey deadpans for the cameras. Niki’s still laughing about her birthday song.

The show rehashes the boy/girl divide in a series of clips. The girls think the guys are fake, mean, and hypocrites. The guys don’t know what they are talking about. Dom and Perry are voted as the biggest jerks, no surprise there.

The funniest part of the evening comes when the models start mocking each other’s catwalks. Even Niki and Tyson get in on the fun, making fun of Casey and Jacki. Finally, everyone’s getting along!

Talk turns to romance. Perry and Stephanie deny having a relationship, and Perry faces the inevitable clips and questions about his wayward girlfriend, Amanda Pagel. He’s pretty angry that she just hung up on him and wouldn’t talk about things. It turns out Perry’s not the only one with a fried relationship. Jay and Katie both broke up with their significant others after they returned from the show.

Jennifer Starr and Corey Bautista make an appearance, and so does Clay Burwell, the trainer. He thinks Ben is the most physically improved, and after that Elemental photoshoot, it’s hard to argue. The other, eliminated models are split on who they think should win the competition, Holly or Perry, but hardly any of them want to see Ben or Ronnie win. Tune in next Thursday to find out who will be made into a supermodel!

It’s the Final Vote on Make Me a Supermodel!

March 20, 2008 09:27:11 by Lisa_Stauber

Make Me A SupermodelThis week on Make Me a Supermodel, Shannon and Ronnie are up for the vote. Surprise! Shannon’s first time at the bottom is also her last, as America keeps Ronnie on for another week.

There are only four models left, and Holly is the only girl. “I hate you guys,” she says to Ronnie and Perry. She might be the only female, but she’s tired of taking the boys’ insults.

Naomi Campbell makes a surprise visit, and looks over the models’ books. The boys are dumbstruck. “She smells great!” Ben finally manages to say. Naomi likes Holly’s hair, and calls Perry’s shoot “saucy”.

The last photo assignment involves nudity. The models will be getting elemental, and each one is assigned to be earth, wind, fire or water. Legendary photographer and director Matthew Rolston will be shooting. The models aren’t as shy as they were several weeks ago, but Holly is still a little squeamish. “Seeing Ben naked is like seeing your brother naked. It just shouldn’t happen,” she says.

Ben’s up first, as Wind. He shows off his amazing physique under billowing yards of fabric. “That was very good work,” Matthew says. “Ben impressed me very much.” Holly is up next, embodying fire. She’s wearing a bald cap and not much else – Matthew will be adding flames to her head using photo shop. “She’s not as toned as she should be for a nude,” Matthew complains, but he gets his shot.

Perry is startling as Water. He’s looking fierce, with his teeth blacked out into points and a huge ice cube in his mouth. He’s naked, too, but Matthew has him tuck his tail between his legs for the shoot. Perry has one request. He has an “A” on his wrist, a sign of his love for wayward girlfriend Amanda Pagel. Apparently, he believes last week’s tabloid story, because he asks the photographer if he can erase the tat from the shots. He doesn’t want to be reminded of his ex when he’s viewing his awesome shoot. Matthew promises to wipe out any trace of Miss A.

Ronnie is assigned Earth, and he looks like a Greek god. “Masculine grace at its finest,” Matthew says. The models are in for another surprise – that night they attend a gallery party featuring their photos! Everyone loves the pics and the models are riding high.

Time for the final catwalk, and it’s a triple decker. The models will do three looks and three different walks. Niki’s brought in some help, though. Christian Siriano, the winner of Project Runway, is on hand to make sure the contestants look fierce. The models practice their walks, and as usual Christian has plenty to say.

Holly’s confident this week. “I’m gonna kill that catwalk like it’s a lazy squirrel,” she says. Christian likes her too. “She’s a great model. I would probably book her.” Christian also thinks he knows why America loves Ronnie so much. “He’s so cute! Maybe because all the gays are in love with him.” He’s not so sure about the other viewer favorite, Ben. “I don’t think Ben is ready,” he says.

The first walk is underwear, and Holly is cute and almost retro in an orange wig. The boys don’t have much to show in plain black skivvies. They get to have fun on the second walk, though. Ben looks like he’s ready to hunt Easter eggs in a blue bow tie and white shorts, and loosens up enough to do a little skip at the end. Perry goes for a full blown dance number at the end of the catwalk, and Holly is gorgeous in a fluffy, ruffly gown and matching hat. Ronnie’s got shades from the 80’s, but his walk is forgettable.

The third look is a serious one, and the models all do a nice job of elegantly showing off their fancy clothes. Holly’s happy to be out there. “My favorite part about modeling is the catwalk.”

The judges have lots to say to the contestants. It’s the last time we’ll be voting, and America is going to choose the winner this week. Will it be Perry, so sure of himself and newly single? Ronnie, the good looking All-American boy? Ben, the prison guard with a body so hot even Tyson Beckford comments on it? Or will Holly be the last girl standing? Go to www.bravotv.com right now to vote, and pick who will be made into a supermodel!

Make Me a Supermodel Goes Goth.

March 13, 2008 08:46:42 by Lisa_Stauber

Make Me A SupermodelAmerica surprised the judges this week on Make Me a Supermodel. Cory Bautista even tells the models that he thinks America made a mistake as it is revealed that Casey will be heading home. Did anyone really think Ben was going anywhere?

Old business aside, the fun starts right away. The contestants are going to live a supermodel lifestyle, and fly to New Orleans for the photo assignment. Ben’s excited, as the Big Easy is his hometown. Tyson also tells the models about a change in the voting procedure. From now on, only two models will be up for the vote.

The models hop off to their rooms to get ready, but Tyson pulls Perry aside. It’s time to show him the tabloid story about his wayward girlfriend, Amanda Pagel. Perry’s shocked. “Is that my house?” According to the story, Britney Spears’ paparazzi boyfriend has spent five nights in a row at Perry’s house with Perry’s girl.

Tyson tries to give him a pep talk. “This would make any normal man crumble,” he tells Perry. “A supermodel, though? This ain’t nothing.” Perry is not impressed, and Tyson continues. “If this is true, then the best revenge is success.”

“If this is true, then it’s the worst news I’ve ever had in my life,” Perry s
