Big Brother 10 Together Again Rumors Already Flying

April 27, 2008 07:53:07 by Joe Reality

Big Brother 10 Together AgainWith just one commercial at the end of the Big Brother 9 finale, CBS has started the rumors flying about what might be in store for Big Brother 10.  The commercial featured black silhouettes dancing to the song “Happy Together.”

As the figures danced and the music played, the words “Summer And Big Brother Together Again” flashed in the background.  Because the words were separated as they flashed, speculation is running rampant over if there was any hidden meaning to the words.

It’s possible that the words meant nothing more than that the Big Brother show is once again together with its Summer timeslot.  However, it’s also possible that “Together Again” might be the theme for Big Brother 10.  If “Together Again” is the theme, then it would seem to indicate that once again Big Brother will not be a house filled with complete strangers.

Of course, for the last six seasons of Big Brother at least some of the houseguests have known each other before entering the house.  Not since Big Brother 3 has the house been filled with complete strangers.

Since Big Brother 7 was an All Stars edition, it would seem unlikely that CBS would do another All Stars again so soon.  However, some fans are speculating that Big Brother might borrow from Survivor and do a fans versus favorites season, where some previous houseguests would return to compete against all new houseguests.

There have also been some rumors that reality TV veterans Rob & Amber Mariano might be part of Big Brother 10.  However, this rumor has also circulated in previous seasons.  Last Summer at a Tontine casting call, Reality TV Magazine asked Rob Mariano if he and Amber would ever consider appearing on Big Brother, and Rob said, “Lot of rumors on the Internet.  No, traveling the world for 100 days as a host is one thing, sitting in a house locked up with people I don’t know for what is it three months is something completely different.  No, I have no desire to do Big Brother.”

Big Brother 9: Adam Jasinski Wins!

April 27, 2008 06:49:53 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-adam-resized-cast-photo.jpgIt was the first ever winter edition of summer’s guiltiest pleasure. Thanks to the Hollywood writer’s strike, Big Brother 9 premiered with 16 houseguests and a new twist – coupling the players up. But after just a few eliminations, the couples were split and the game became individual. After many tears, lies, betrayals and laughs, only two remained – Ryan and Adam. Tonight, the seven jury members were set to cast their votes live for the winner of the $500,000; second place taking $50,000.

But tonight money was flying everywhere since a twist was that one of the seven jury members would be taking home a prize of $25,000 after America voted online for their favorite juror.

But before the votes were made, Sheila went to the sequester house as the last member of the jury. After she arrived, Sheila told the other six jury members that Adam had stabbed her in the back. After she had vowed to be true to Adam till the end, she was fully prepared to vote for Ryan. It seemed like a toss up.

Then, each member of the jury was given the chance to ask the final two a question – and it wasn’t pretty. Both Ryan and Adam were hit hard with questions including why they lied, what they would do with the money and why one deserved it more than the other. Adam proved to be a much better talker than Ryan, but he often answered very defensively and angrily.

After they each responded, the jury all agreed that it was a tough decision on who to vote for as the most deserving.

Host Julie Chen then introduced the seven jury members outside of the house where a small studio audience was assembled (including several past players). One at a time, each of the jurors went up to the voting booth and placed their votes for the winner in the box.

Following the vote, the first six evicted from the house returned for a small reunion. Neil, however, one player who left the game for unknown reasons, was the only one not on hand. As for the early evictees, the only real chat came from Jen and Allison. Jen was asked how she felt about Allison and she said that her feelings hadn’t changed – she doesn’t care for her. That’s because, according to Jen, Allison thought she would be a better match for her boyfriend (Ryan). Speaking of relationships, over to Matt and Natalie. Natalie, who had fallen for her partner in the game, had no idea of all the comments he had made about her. So he apologized to her in advance before she went home and did her own Big Brother marathon to see how the season played out.

It came time for the live reveal of the votes. It was Adam Jasinski crowned the winner, taking home $500,000 (He got six of the seven votes). Then the final two, for the first time in months, left the house for good and came out to a cheering crowd. Adam promised to do some good with his victory and said $100,000 of his money will be going to the United Autism Fund.

After voting for nearly an hour, America had their say – they voted that James, was the favorite juror and he was given $25,000.

Another end to a long, dramatic season, but for Big Brother fans, the show will be returning for another twisted summer when season 10 premieres on July 13.

See you then…

Big Brother 9: Sheila Evicted! Final Two Revealed!

April 23, 2008 08:05:11 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-sheila-resized-cast-photo.jpgDay 77 arrived for the final three houseguests with tonight’s episode picking up where last night’s left off.  Ryan, Adam and Sheila were strapped into their kneeboards and competing in the first part of the final Head Of Household competition.  The one who could hang on the longest would move on to the final round of the three-part HOH contest.  But it wasn’t so easy – the platform they all sat on was inclined and then the water flow was increased.  To top it all off, freezing rain was let loose.

They were all battling the frigid temperatures of the water, but Sheila revealed in a confessional that water is a big fear of hers after she almost drowned in Hawaii many years ago.  But that big fear didn’t stop her from dropping out of the competition and into the pool of water at the bottom only 36 minutes in.  She said her strategy for dropping out was so she wouldn’t feel sick when it came to the next part of the HOH contest.  The reason this HOH was so crucial was because the person who won would get the sole vote to evict, thus deciding the final 2.

While Ryan and Adam were the last two hanging, a new plan was revealed.  Flashback just an hour before Sharon’s eviction on Tuesday and viewers see Adam approaching Ryan with a new idea.  He was fully prepared to vote out Sheila and bring Sharon to the final 3.  But he asked Ryan why they would want to do that since it would be easier to beat Sheila in the final competitions.  Ryan agreed and they made a pact to go to the final 2 together and bring Sheila along for the ride.  Moments later, Adam kept true to his word and voted out Sharon.  Fast forward back to the two in the watery endurance challenge, Ryan promised Adam safety if he would quit.  So, Adam, in an effort to prove to Ryan that he was trustworthy, let go of his rope and plunged into the pool below.  With that, Ryan was guaranteed a spot in the final part of the HOH competition.

Adam and Sheila were set to duke it out in part two.  But they were doing this one at a time in the backyard.  In the game, there was a huge guinea pig wheel with a maze attached to it.  Inside the maze were 10 balls each with the names of those who won HOH throughout the game.  The goal was to get all the balls out in the order the players won HOH and place them on a board.  But to get them out of the maze, they had to walk on the wheel and spin the maze around until each ball dropped into a hole and out of the maze.  Whoever completed this in the fastest time would go up against Ryan in the third and final part of the critical HOH.  As it was underway, Adam seemed very focused and got the hang of the wheel rather quickly.  Sheila was having a tough time staying on her feet and said she was feeling a bit nauseous.

They each completed the maze and all three houseguests congregated outside to see who did the best.  Sheila finished it in 33:26.  Adam did it in 14:55, thus giving him the win.

Next, Big Brother checked in at the jury house where it was revealed that Matt wasn’t treating Natalie so nice.  She was very upset about it and said that whenever she goes into a room, he seems to leave it.  Matt apologized to Natalie after Joshuah told him he was being mean.  Natalie wasn’t sure anymore about their relationship.  Then, Sharon arrived and shocked the house.  They were all surprised and most were upset to see her since many of them wanted her to win.  All of them joined together in the living room of the sequester house and watched the DVD of Sharon’s eviction.

Back to the important stuff, for the final part of the HOH competition, Ryan and Adam joined together live in the living room as host Julie Chen asked a series of questions.  Each jury member recorded a statement since leaving the house.  Chen would say the first part of each player’s statements and then give Ryan and Adam two options as to how they completed it.  For example, Sharon said the biggest lie she told in the house was…A-that her back hurt causing her to drop out of the glass box…B-she never told a lie in the house.  The player getting the most correct out of six would win the right to evict one last person.  It was a short game leaving Ryan victorious over Adam 3-2.

After Ryan’s win, he was tasked with voting either Adam or Sheila out live.  But first, each was given the opportunity to plead their case.  Adam said he hoped Ryan would make the right choice.  Sheila cried and said that going to the final two would change her life.  After a few words, Ryan stood up and evicted Sheila, the oldest player in the house.  They all shared a group hug; she picked up her bag and walked out of the house becoming the final evictee.

In her exit interview, Sheila said she was devastated because she thought Adam would have won the HOH and taken her to the end.

It started with 16 and now it’s down to two – Ryan and Adam.  Who will win the $500,000 prize?  Find out on the season finale Sunday night at 8 PM.

Big Brother 9: Sharon Evicted!

April 22, 2008 09:05:15 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-sharon-cast-photo-resized2.jpgTonight was Big Brother on adrenaline. The veto competition was held, a player was evicted and the first part of the final Head Of Household competition began.

It was Day 76 in the house, and tonight’s Power Of Veto competition was set to be the most crucial one as only four players remained. Whoever won it would hold a lot of power. For example, if one of the nominees (Sharon or Sheila) would win the power and pulled herself off, they would then get the sole vote to evict.

After the nomination ceremony, Sheila told Adam she was worried about being up against Sharon who had been nominated five times in a row – the most in Big Brother history. But, Adam promised his ex-partner that she would be safe if he was the sole vote.

Then the two were called to the Diary Room to fulfill their half from the recent luxury competition. As the losers, they were forced to be shackled together for a full 24 hours. As Adam changed his pants one time he said, “Look, it’s me in my underwear, Sheila.” She was really irritated, but the whole situation was hilarious. As they were both sitting down and chatting with Ryan, Adam would jerk his arm around, which would then jerk Sheila’s around. It was like watching a 10-year-old brother and sister fight.

After a full day, they were both unshackled and made single yet again just in time for the veto competition. Outside, it was set up to take the houseguests to the horse races. The backyard was separated into four spaces each with five horses attached to a wall. Each horse had a headless jockey sitting on it. The goal was to take the five evicted members who are now on the jury and place their faces on the jockey’s bodies. Then two facts about each player had to be attached. The first to get all the faces and facts placed would win the POV. Without much effort, Ryan won the final POV and held the ultimate power this week as he had won HOH earlier.

After the competition, Sharon was in the bathroom when Adam came up to her and offered her safety and a spot in the final 2. But she didn’t shake his hand and take the deal because she needed time to think about it. Instead, she went up and told Ryan what Adam just did. Moments later, Adam went up to HOH and covered his tracks saying he never offered Sharon any deal – lying to Ryan’s face yet again. Ryan was suspicious of Adam’s trustworthiness now after this proposed deal and his loose lips to Natalie.

The live veto meeting arrived, and Ryan decided to keep his nominations intact and not use the veto. After each nominee pled their case for safety, Adam stood up and cast the sole vote to evict. No surprise that he voted to oust Sharon. In her eviction interview, Sharon told host Julie Chen that she was fine with being evicted and thinks that Adam and Sheila are going to stick together for the remainder of the game.

Then it came time for the first part of the final HOH competition. The final three houseguests — Sheila, Adam and Ryan — got on a watery platform and strapped themselves into a kneeboard. Each player was told they had to keep at least one hand on their strap at all times. Then, the platform tilted up and the river flow increased. Moments later, makeshift rain started falling. The last person hanging on would move on to the final part of the three-part HOH battle.

Big Brother 9: Sheila & Sharon Nominated!

April 20, 2008 06:26:09 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-sheila-resized-cast-photo.jpgLast week, after Sheila made the tiebreaking vote, Natalie was evicted from the house leaving only four competitors. The tie was done on purpose with the plan that Ryan nor Adam would admit who voted which way. But Adam whispered to Natalie just moments before she walked out the door that he had voted in support of her. Problem is that his ally, Ryan, saw him do it.

After Natalie walked out of the house, Ryan immediately brought up Adam’s loose lips asking him why he spilled the beans on who voted which way. Adam denied the allegations to Ryan, but in a Diary Room confessional admitted that he was guilty.

Then it came to the Head Of Household competition, which Ryan won after a tiebreaking question. But one of the fact vs. fiction questions had puzzled the houseguests. Host Julie Chen asked if it was fact or fiction that there was another pre-existing relationship still in the house. Of course there wasn’t – at least with human beings. The very misleading (and unfair) answer, not revealed to the houseguests, was that it was a fact the guinea pigs had a pre-existing relationship. But this, obviously in Big Brother’s plan to screw with the heads of the final four, had everybody questioning Sheila and who she might be related to in the house – even unknowingly. Was Ryan her nephew? Was Sharon her daughter? None of those were true, but Adam and Ryan were suspicious.

After Ryan saw his new HOH bedroom and read his letter from his girlfriend Jen, it was time for a luxury competition. Paired into teams of two – Ryan/Sharon against Adam/Sheila – the contestants were battling to win an advanced screening of the upcoming flick “What Happens in Vegas” starring Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. But that wasn’t all. The winners would also get to go to the red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on May 1, a ticket to the after party to mingle with the stars and a shopping spree. The losers also won something – the right to be shackled together for a full 24 hours after the nomination ceremony. There was definitely a lot at stake.

bb9-sharon-cast-photo-resized1.jpgThe goal was to smash candy-glass bottles over each other’s heads looking for rings with dice on them. Each time one was found, it was placed on a board with nine different images. After all nine images were covered with a team’s ring, a wheel with the same symbols would be spun. The team whose image was spun to and marked on the board with one of their rings would win it all. After the smashing competition, Ryan and Sharon had six symbols marked against Adam and Sheila’s three. The wheel was spun and the win went to Ryan and Sharon.

Not long after, the two went outside for a late-night drive-in style screening of the new movie. Then viewers were treated to watching two people watch a movie – what fun (blech). It was essentially a giant ad for the movie at Big Brother’s expense. Thank goodness that was short-lived.

Nominations were looming and Sharon, who has a secret alliance with Ryan, went up to the HOH bedroom and told him that Adam couldn’t be trusted. Ryan agreed, especially after Adam whispered to Natalie that he voted to keep her. It finally arrived for Ryan to choose who to nominate for eviction. With only four competitors left, only one person would be voting this week, meaning only one would be safe from eviction. The final four congregated at their ever-shrinking table and it was revealed that Ryan spared Adam, nominating the two remaining ladies. Sheila was brought to tears and then shackled to Adam for a day that will likely be hilarious to watch.

Big Brother 9: Natalie Evicted! Ryan Wins HOH!

April 16, 2008 08:20:19 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-natalie-cast-photo-resized1.jpgTonight marked week 10 for the remaining five houseguests in the Big Brother house. The plan this week after Sheila won Head Of Household was to backdoor Natalie. It appeared like that’s what was going to happen after Adam won the Power Of Veto and pulled himself off of the chopping block.

With only five players left, only two people, Ryan and Adam, were eligible to vote. In a very cocky move, they called a house meeting to discuss the game. Natalie didn’t want to go out to the kitchen table and be a part of it because she was coloring her hair. But that didn’t stop the arrogance. Ryan and Adam took it to her. In front of the entire house, Ryan asked Natalie about her doubletalk after he heard she was playing both sides. He wanted to know where her loyalties were. Natalie told them that her true alliance remained with the men and if she won HOH next week, she would nominate Sheila for eviction. This meeting showed Sheila a lot – that her plan to backdoor Natalie wasn’t looking good.

After the meeting, the two men went to Natalie alone and she was brought to tears saying she never had any intentions of turning on them. Either she was really desperate or telling the truth. But in a game like Big Brother, who knows?

Up in the HOH bedroom, Sheila questioned the guys on why they were considering keeping the target. They all ended up getting in a fight and Adam called Sheila a bi**h. At that, she kicked them both out of her room.

Then in a break from the strategy of tonight’s elimination, viewers got to pay a visit at the jury house to see how the three players there (Matt, Chelsia, Joshuah) reacted to the arrival of James. Matt was happy to see him since he was the person who took him out of the game. Chelsia was upset because she wanted him to win. But James was kind of nasty after they got to see the DVD of what had happened in the house that week. He said the reason he was targeted so hard was because of the way Chelsia talked as she was evicted. Chelsia left the room and was very upset that she might have been the reason he was eliminated.

Back to the house, it was time for the live eviction. Each player was given the chance to plead their case. Sharon, obviously getting used to doing it, said the same thing she says each week. Then Natalie stood up and begged the men to keep her safe saying her loyalties were with them. One at a time, Ryan and Adam each went into the Diary Room and announced who they wanted to evict. The two split their votes with Ryan going after Natalie, Adam taking out Sharon. In a tie, the current HOH decides who gets evicted. Sheila stood up and evicted Natalie. The plan worked out after all.

After the eviction, it was time to give the power of HOH to another houseguest. The three competitors, Ryan, Adam and Sharon squared off in battle of fact vs. fiction. Host Julie Chen asked a series of questions that were strictly guesses of true vs. false based on events relating to the game. Sharon had the lead the whole time until the final question when Ryan tied it up. That question asked if there was another pre-existing relationship still in the house. When the game began, there were two (Sharon and Jacob, Ryan and Jen). The answer appeared to be false, but Ryan guessed true and he was right. How could that be so? The answer? Hold onto your hats because it’s absolutely misleading and ridiculous. The other pre-existing relationship (cited at the bottom of the screen and not revealed to the contestants) are the guinea pigs. Oh please! Sharon, by all means should be the one in the HOH bedroom this week based on her answers in the competition. But, after Ryan won the tiebreaker question, he was given the power for the week.

Big Brother 9: Adam Wins Veto, Natalie Nominated!

April 15, 2008 07:50:48 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-natalie-cast-photo-resized.jpgTonight’s episode was filled with a lot of predictable, and yet, boring strategy. For starters, the house was secretly plotting to backdoor Natalie. Sheila, the current Head Of Household, had nominated Adam and Sharon for eviction with the intent that anybody but Natalie would win the Power Of Veto. They would yank one player off the chopping block and put Natalie up in their place.

As Ryan and Adam were downstairs, they noticed a message on their living room message screen – the POV competition was to be held that night. The whole house was shocked and nervous about it because none of them wanted Natalie to win.

One at a time, each houseguest went outside to take their turn in the competition, Natalie first. There was a giant television made up of nine screens. The goal was to complete a puzzle on the giant TV by changing the channels to make a whole picture out of the nine screens. As each player took their turn, most got the hang of it rather quickly, but not Sheila. She took forever and kept making mistakes and googling over Evel Dick in some of the pictures.

After everybody finished, the houseguests congregated to find out who had won. Sheila took the longest at 15:30. Adam, won the veto after completing the puzzle in a fast 3:20. So far, the plan to backdoor Natalie was heading in the right direction and she had no idea she was the target. But Natalie told Ryan that she knew she would be the replacement nominee after Adam pulled himself off the chopping block. She was prepared for that.

Natalie also started to feel uncomfortable with the amount of time Sharon and Sheila were spending together. So Natalie asked her about it. Sheila, without hesitation, told Chatty Natty that she was going up on the block as the replacement nominee. Sheila did lie to her, however, when she said that she had nothing to worry about. But it’s Big Brother – everybody lies.

And something other than strategy in this episode – it was Sheila’s birthday and the houseguests decided to celebrate. They set up decorations outside and surprised the birthday gal who received a letter from her mom. Sheila said her relationship with her mother wasn’t the greatest and the last time she had talked to her was on Thanksgiving. But after the game, she said she wants to get out of the house and have a decent bond with her.

Not long before the veto ceremony, Sheila continued to campaign to Ryan and Adam that Natalie needed to go. She was worried that one of them would switch up their vote and evict Sharon. But that’s getting ahead of things. First, it was time for the veto meeting. Adam, of course, pulled himself off the block and Sheila nominated Natalie. The funny thing, Sheila said this was the hardest thing she had to do in the house. Is it just me or does it seem every move she makes is the most difficult thing she’s done in the game? Will the houseguests get rid of their intended target?
