Hulk Hogan won’t be the only Hulk gracing the arena on the Monday, June 9th episode of American Gladiators. There’s a new Hulk coming to town… er, okay, an old Hulk… of the Marvel superhero variety.
To celebrate the premiere of The Incredible Hulk (poised to hit theaters June 13th), American Gladiators is truly Hulk-ing out. Rumor is Lou Ferrigno (the actor who played The Hulk in the 1970s television series) will be making an appearance and one of the Gladiators will get a very special makeover. Let’s just say Titan just might make the contenders green with fear.
The men’s challenge features a science teacher (Tony Tolbert) versus a Columbine High School survivor (Landon Jones) ; the ladies will pit Chuanda Mason (an Army veteran) against Rochelle Gilken (a crime reporter).
Viewers who are also Incredible Hulk fans, stick around for a special treat: Just before the final eliminator challenge, NBC will air a never-before-seen clip of the movie.
Catch this episode of American Gladiators on Monday, June 9th at 8:00 PM (ET) on NBC.

The third episode of American Gladiators begins tonight with the two female contenders: Tiffaney Florentine, a military cop, and De Day, a happily married mom from Sarasota, Florida who plans to use her husband’s tips to come out on top. As things get under way, the ladies will try to climb the Pyramid! Tiffaney will face the mighty Crush, while De goes against fiery Phoenix. Both ladies give it their all - Crush even loses her helmet! In the end, neither contender is able to make it past the Gladiators and up the Pyramid.
Next up are the male contenders: Brick Reilly, a man who was born deaf and hails from New Jersey. He will tackle Hang Tough! He explains that he will remove his cochlear implant when he competes. His opposition is the ever-ready Wolf, who howls his intention to bring Brick down into the water! The event starts and Wolf grabs Brick fairly quickly, but the contender is able to pull free and hang on, although he doesn’t make it to the platform. Toby Gordin, a grocer and dad, is the next contender to take on Wolf in Hang Tough. Wolf promises to send Toby home to his kids real quick! True to his word, Wolf manages to get his legs around Toby’s neck in a leg lock, and takes him down into the water in fairly short order.
De Day will now face Crush on her best event, Joust. De and Crush start and Crush immediately hits De hard, knocking her onto her knees, and sending her weapon into the water. The whistle blows - Crush wins. Next up, Tiffaney will try her luck against Crush in the Joust. She fares no better than her predecessor as Crush knocks her off-balance and into the water within seconds!
The men are now ready for Joust. Toby is up on the platform talking tough about jousting against the huge Gladiator, Justice. When both men are ready, the whistle goes. Toby hangs in for more than ten seconds, but is sent neatly into the water without even landing a hit on Justice! Brick is up next on Joust, and once the round starts, the audience goes crazy when, after a flurry of hits, both the contender and the Gladiator go sailing into the water at seemingly the same time! After a video review, however, the referee rules that Brick’s feet left the platform first, giving the victory to Justice, the Gladiator.
The female contenders prepare to face Venom and Jet in Rocketball. The event is started by the referee’s whistle, with both contenders and Gladiators flying through the air trying to net some baskets. When the buzzer goes Tiffaney has 5 points and De has 4 points! Finally, they’re on the board! The men are up next in Rocketball, and will surely be able to score some points as well. Toby and Brick face Zen and Titan in the air, as the match gets underway. After a lot of entertaining maneuvering, the buzzer sounds and the men are left tied at 4 points apiece!
Earthquake is the next event, where contender meets Gladiator on a moving disc in the air! De will be going first, facing the brand-new, ice-cold Gladiator, Steel. Steel’s trademark is her silence. Hulk wishes De luck and the match begins. The ladies scrabble and wrestle and remarkably, De is able to hold on and score 5 points! Tiffaney comes forward for her chance against Steel in Earthquake. The whistle blows and the pair become locked in battle, soon Tiffaney is headed off the edge, but wait - she takes the Gladiator into the water with her! 10 points!
Vertigo is the next challenge - contenders face Gladiators on tall, swaying poles! Brick is confident as he prepares to meet Rocket in this event. As the tow men climb the poles, the commentator reminds us that Brick climbs trees for his job! In the end, Brick’s confidence in himself is rewarded - he scores 10 big points! Toby’s turn on Vertigo is next and Rocket is seeking redemption! Rocket is super fast and Toby is only able to get into the 5 point scoring zone before Rocket completes the race.
Across the arena, the ladies prepare for the newest event, Tilt, which involves balancing on pivoting platforms high above the water while pulling on a tug-of-war rope! The lady contenders are daunted to discover they will be on the wrong end of the rope from Hellga! Tiffaney takes on the Gladiator first, and Hellga is able to pull her off of the platform and into the water fairly quickly. De takes her spot on the pivoting platform, and tells Hulk she has a secret strategy! The whistle blows to start the event and De takes a stunning early advantage, pulling Hellga off-balance and ultimately into the drink! Contender De shrieks with glee!
The men now face the Tilt platforms. First up, Toby, who will have to attempt to pull Toa into the water. No luck for Toby though, as the Gladiator pulls him roughly into the water almost immediately! The mighty Toa now faces the ever-confident Brick. After a battle of balance, Brick amazes the crowd by succeeding in yanking Toa down off of his platform and into the water below!
Skytrack will be the final event before the brutal Eliminator. Contenders race against each other as well as a Gladiator on a track on the ceiling. Tiffaney is running from Crush, and De from Venom! Tiffaney is the first to drop from the ceiling as Crush catches up with her. Moments later, Venom pulls De down as well. After 6 events, De is leading 19 points to 14 points and will enjoy a 2 second lead in Eliminator.
The men will attempt Skytrack now. Toby will be chased down by Militia, while Brick will be tracked by Zen. Toby is caught and pulled down with not much effort on Militia’s part, and the remarkable Brick is able to outrace Zen for an additional 10 points!
Hulk announces that the women are set to run the Eliminator for the win. Tiffaney states that she wants it really bad, and De says she is about to come alive! De is off on the first whistle with a two second lead. Tiffaney takes the lead underwater and reaches the cargo net first! They are neck-and-neck at the top of the cargo net and both make it across the rope swing. The tightrope proves simple for both of the ladies, but De loses it on the handbike and falls into the ball pit below. Tiffaney is in the lead again as they tackle the teeter-totter and approach the travelator. Both women struggle with the brutal travelator, but finally it is Tiffaney who is able to make it to the end of the Eliminator first with a time of 2 minutes 57 seconds - making her first among the four women who have gone on so far this season!
Laila Ali speaks with the men as they prepare to face Eliminator. Brick is confident as ever, and Toby is trying to be optimistic and credits his family for inspiring him. Brick will have a 12 1/2 second head start, posing quite a challenge for Toby. Predictably, Brick takes a commanding lead and shows no signs of letting up as he aces the handbike! Suddenly, Brick begins to favor his arm, causing alarm that he may be injured. Toby tries to make up time as Brick struggles with the travelator, but Brick ultimately gets up and finishes first with a time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds. Toby completes the course soon after. As Laila talks to the winner, Brick, he explains that he had actually dislocated his shoulder and popped it back in during the race! Brick takes second place among the four men who have moved on thus far in the season.
Next week on American Gladiators - a tribute to the Incredible Hulk!

Tonight on American Gladiators two cops from Chicago and two cops from Denver compete!
On the second show of the season, friends turn to foes to compete for the money. The cops come out to bring the heat.
First up are Melvin Davis and David Moore from Chicago. They work together on the Police department. Melvin is a seasoned veteran and David calls him his mentor. David feels he is younger and stronger and confident he can win. Melvin says he is doing it for the older guys and that he is more seasoned.
The first event is Power ball. They have one minute to score points as the Gladiators try to crush them. The Gladiators are: Toa, Justice and Titan. The contenders throw their balls into the bin as they both get double teamed. The Gladiators continue to take the contenders down and the men end up each having one point. David jokes that he will roll Melvin out in the chair when he wins and Melvin says he will give him his pacifier.
The two female contenders and best friends are Vicky Ferrari and Abbe Dorn they are from the same district in Denver. They are competitive and although Abbe is stronger physically Vicky feels she is more of a mental competitor.
It is a brand new event called Rocket Ball. The Gladiators are: Jet and Phoenix. They have to launch themselves toward the baskets and earn one point for each yellow and two for each red basket. The female contenders fly through the air and they converge at the same time. Both contenders get 2 points. In the end the tough cops get 11 points combined. The winner of this round is Abbe with 6 points and Vicki with 5.
The next men’s event is the Joust. The Gladiator is Titan and he is undefeated in this event. As they begin, Titan comes on strong and David ends up over the line which causes him to lose and receive no points. Melvin is up next and Titan tells him to stay low, tuck his head and when he dives in he will feel alright. Melvin and Titan battle it out. But Melvin goes for the water immediately with one mighty wallop. The score is still tied and Melvin sets a new record for going into the water the fastest ever!
In the next women’s event, Hulk tells the ladies, that Venom will be trying to take a bite out of Abbe. Venom tells her that she looks like her Barbie that she snapped the head off of. The event begins and Abbe tries to make her way across the rings to get to the other side. She does it and scores 5 points. Vicki is up next and tries her strategy. In one minute she tries to get to the other side. Venom clutches onto her and she ends up in the water. The score is 11 for Abbe and 5 for Vicki.
The next event is Earthquake. Melvin is up and ready to go against Toa. As they balance on the platform, Toa takes him down and they both end up in the water giving Melvin 10 points because Toa ended up in the water too. David comes up and Laila tells him of the new lead. He says he brought his game and will do it again. David tries to keep up with his mentor as he battles Toa. Again both men end up in the water and he also gets 10 points. Both contenders are tied with 11 points each.
The women take their turn on Earthquake and Laila asks Abbe if she is worried Vicki will sneak up on her. Crush is the Gladiator. When the event begins, Crush gets on top right away and Abbe hangs tough. Crush wraps herself around her neck, but Abbe hangs on and she gets 5 points. Crush is ticked off with the tie and she goes right after Vicki. Crush tries to bring her down, but Vicki refuses to go and once again they score 5 points each. The score is 16 to 10 for Abbe.
Next the men battle the Gauntlet. David is the first to go for it. He says the title is going to Chicago. The Gladiators are: Toa Wolf, Militia and Justice. He hit’s the first three and floats past them. Justice fights him but David breaks free making it through and earns a new record for going through the fastest. He earns 10 points. Melvin is up next and the Gladiators look for revenge. He is knocked back by Toa and he gets through. Militia keeps him down and he ends up with 3 points. The score is 15 to 21 for David.
Next up for the women, Helga comes out for the Assault. Abbe appears to work her way through the event with ease and even makes it to the fifth station. She almost makes it to the buzzer, but can’t do it before the time is up. Vicki is next and tries to match Abbe. She makes it to the fourth station and runs out of time. The score is 21 to 14 for Abbe.
The next event is new. It is called Sky track. The men encounter the new event and the Gladiators are: Wolf, and Militia. They have to make their way around the loop in the sky and the first to get through gets 10 points, while the second receives 5. If they get pulled by the rip cord, they will get zero. The two men race across the track with their upper body as the Gladiators pursue them. David is pulled off by Militia and the Wolf pulls Melvin down telling them to call 911 two officers down.
The women are up next for Sky track. Their Gladiators are Crush and Jet. The women pull themselves across the track and Crush chases Vicki, while Abbe keeps a lead. Crush grabs Vicki and then Jet pulls down Abbe. The score is 21 to 14 for Abbe.
The Wall is up next and the Hulk shows them the new mountain. David is up against the Rocket and Melvin is with a new Gladiator, Zen. The contenders get a 7 second head start and Zen chases Melvin as Rocket closes in on David. Zen gets under Melvin and pulls him off. Rocket is on top of David and pulls him off too. The score is 15 to 21 for David and he gets a 6 second head start in the Eliminator for his lead.
The women attempt the Wall next. Hulk asks Abbe how she feels and she says she is ready to bring it! Venom is after Abbe and Phoenix will be after Vicki. The women go, but Vicki is no match for Phoenix. Abbe begins to pull away as Vicki goes down. Abbe almost makes it to the top, but slips! The score is 21 to 14 giving Abbe a 3.5 second lead in the Eliminator.
In the Eliminator, Melvin and David try for 100,00 dollars and a new Toyota Sequoia. David gets a head start on Melvin because of his point lead. David stays ahead of his competitor throughout most of the event appearing not to be tired at all. Melvin lags behind him. David attempts each event and achieves it without difficulty. On the last stretch of the event David tires and cannot get up the travelator. David takes a breath and tries twice to get the rope as Melvin catches up with him. David comes down again with Melvin beside him. Melvin attempts it again, running on empty and pulls away! David tries to catch up but Melvin wins with a time of 10 minutes and 30 seconds! The Hulk congratulates Melvin and David tells everyone at home that the travelator is no joke! Melvin tells everyone that age doesn’t matter when it comes to the Eliminator.
Next the women go for the prize! Abbe tells Vicki that she loves her and to give it 100%. Abbe gets a head start because of her point lead. Abbe gets to the top and goes for it. Vicki makes it up behind her and lags behind. Abbe continues to go and runs through events easily. Abbe pulls herself up the travelator and she makes it over the top and through the banner to win with a time of 2 minutes and 58 seconds, compared to the men’s over 10 minute time. Abbe cheers Vicki on as she finishes the course.
They prove that they are anything but ordinary!
The women’s standings at the end of the show are: Abbe in first place with a time of 2 minutes and 58 seconds, Vanessa is in second place with 3 minutes and 36 seconds and Mellissa is in third place with 9 minutes and 42 seconds.
The men’s standings are: Randee with 2 minutes and 6 seconds is in first place, Gerry is second with a time of 3 minutes and 2 seconds and third is Melvin with a time of 9 minutes and 42 seconds.

The season premiere of American Gladiators kicks off with Hulk Hogan declaring it to be the biggest, baddest competition on prime time television! The show begins with 40 determined competitors facing off against the Gladiators, who have three new members! There are new events, and the grueling Eliminator is even tougher than last season!
First up is construction worker Randee Haynes who dedicates his performance to his wife, and Jay Martinez a police officer and S.W.A.T. member! He claims to fear nothing! Jay and Randee head straight to the new event, Rocketball, where they will face Wolf and Toa. Contenders try to score in baskets high in the sky while the Gladiators try to stop them. With a howl from Wolf they’re off, flying on bungee cords through the air. The event ends with Jay and Randee tied 2-2!
Next up, the female contenders! They are Elena Maskalik, a firefighter from the Ukraine, and Melissa Trinidad, a feisty single mother. Together they will face the daunting climb up the pyramid as well as Gladiators Crush and Venom! The ladies don’t have much luck, however, as neither woman is able to get anywhere near the top of the pyramid!
Hang Tough is the next event, with contender Randee saying, “Who’s afraid of the big, bad Wolf?” Wolf, of course, being a very intimidating figure on the rings. Randee breaks free from the Wolf claw once, but in the end, gets pulled down into the water below. Since he hung on just until the buzzer went though, he is thrilled to get 5 points! Wolf climbs back up ready to take on Jay, who claims he’ll be ‘Lord of the Rings’! The riled up Wolf takes less than 10 seconds to pull Jay down into the wate
