Jonas Brothers To Appear On Extreme Makeover Home Edition

On this week’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Ty Pennington and his team come to the aid of a family with two daughters suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The disease has left both girls confined to their beds.

The Akers family lives in a bi-level home in West Chester, Ohio. Their home is in desperate need of renovation, as it is not comfortable or safe. The Akers family consists of parents Greg and Ginger and their three children. Their oldest child is named Christian, their middle child is named Brooke, and their youngest child is named Faith.

All three children appeared to be healthy at birth, but they were later diagnosed with life-threatening conditions. Christian has Chrohn’s Disease, while both Brooke and Faith have Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Brooke uses a two hundred pound wheelchair to get around at school, but the wheelchair does not fit inside the Akers family home.

Brooke and Faith often have to be carried, which has resulted in Ginger developing a hiatus hernia from lifting the girls. Despite their health issues, all three children inspire hope and admiration from others. Faith loves dolls, Christian plays five sports, and Brooke cheerleads at his games.

Because of large medical bills, the Akers family cannot afford to renovate their home or move. Ty Pennington and his design team along with local builder Dallis Designer Homes and hundreds of volunteers will rebuild the Akers family home. The design team includes designers Paul DiMeo, Michael Moloney, Paige Hemmis and Ed Sanders.

Also, the Akers family will receive visits from some celebrity guests. The Jonas Brothers, who appear in Disney Channel’s Living the Dream, will make an appearance, as will Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Extreme Makeover Home Edition airs on Sunday, October 5 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET on ABC.
