Twister Chaser And Safety Conscious Mom Swap On Wife Swap

It’s time for a brand new season of Wife Swap.  To get this season kicked off with excitement, a wife who chases twisters with her family swaps lives with a very safety conscious wife.  The Heene family of Colorado consists of wife Mayumi, husband Richard, and their three kids.  The kids are eight year old Bradford, seven year old Ryo, and five year old Falcon.  The Heene family likes to live life on the edge, and the whole family goes on storm chasing missions.  Wife Mayumi often wakes the family by using a bullhorn to announce “Storm Approaching, Storm Approaching!”

In order to be prepares to chase storms, the whole family sleeps in their clothes.  Mayumi maintains storm equipment, drives the storm-mobile, and films tornadoes.  She also tends to the kids while Richard rides his motorbike into the eye of the storm.  Richard launches rockets that are designed to measure magnetic forces.

The Martel family of Connecticut couldn’t be more different from the Heene family.  The Martel family consists of wife Karen, husband Jay, and their two kids.  The two kids are eleven year old Max and ten year old Dean.  Jay runs a child-proofing business that is devoted to making sure children stay out of harm’s way.  Some of the safety measures taken by the Martel family include fire drills, protective gear on bikes and pogo sticks.

In the first week of the swap, Karen Martel travels to Colorado to experience life as a storm chaser.  She is shocked to see the Heene kids running wild.  Mayumi Heene travels to Connecticut and is equally shocked to see safety gates everywhere.  Mayumi wonders how anyone in the family can have any fun.

In the second week of the swap, Karen Martel tries to bring order to the Heenes’ household.   Mayumi Heene takes the Martels for a wild ride when she shouts “Storm Approaching! Storm Approaching!”  The new season of Wife Swap premieres on Friday, October 3 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET on ABC.
