Big Brother 9: Sheila Evicted! Final Two Revealed!

Day 77 arrived for the final three houseguests with tonight’s episode picking up where last night’s left off.  Ryan, Adam and Sheila were strapped into their kneeboards and competing in the first part of the final Head Of Household competition.  The one who could hang on the longest would move on to the final round of the three-part HOH contest.  But it wasn’t so easy – the platform they all sat on was inclined and then the water flow was increased.  To top it all off, freezing rain was let loose.

They were all battling the frigid temperatures of the water, but Sheila revealed in a confessional that water is a big fear of hers after she almost drowned in Hawaii many years ago.  But that big fear didn’t stop her from dropping out of the competition and into the pool of water at the bottom only 36 minutes in.  She said her strategy for dropping out was so she wouldn’t feel sick when it came to the next part of the HOH contest.  The reason this HOH was so crucial was because the person who won would get the sole vote to evict, thus deciding the final 2.

While Ryan and Adam were the last two hanging, a new plan was revealed.  Flashback just an hour before Sharon’s eviction on Tuesday and viewers see Adam approaching Ryan with a new idea.  He was fully prepared to vote out Sheila and bring Sharon to the final 3.  But he asked Ryan why they would want to do that since it would be easier to beat Sheila in the final competitions.  Ryan agreed and they made a pact to go to the final 2 together and bring Sheila along for the ride.  Moments later, Adam kept true to his word and voted out Sharon.  Fast forward back to the two in the watery endurance challenge, Ryan promised Adam safety if he would quit.  So, Adam, in an effort to prove to Ryan that he was trustworthy, let go of his rope and plunged into the pool below.  With that, Ryan was guaranteed a spot in the final part of the HOH competition.

Adam and Sheila were set to duke it out in part two.  But they were doing this one at a time in the backyard.  In the game, there was a huge guinea pig wheel with a maze attached to it.  Inside the maze were 10 balls each with the names of those who won HOH throughout the game.  The goal was to get all the balls out in the order the players won HOH and place them on a board.  But to get them out of the maze, they had to walk on the wheel and spin the maze around until each ball dropped into a hole and out of the maze.  Whoever completed this in the fastest time would go up against Ryan in the third and final part of the critical HOH.  As it was underway, Adam seemed very focused and got the hang of the wheel rather quickly.  Sheila was having a tough time staying on her feet and said she was feeling a bit nauseous.

They each completed the maze and all three houseguests congregated outside to see who did the best.  Sheila finished it in 33:26.  Adam did it in 14:55, thus giving him the win.

Next, Big Brother checked in at the jury house where it was revealed that Matt wasn’t treating Natalie so nice.  She was very upset about it and said that whenever she goes into a room, he seems to leave it.  Matt apologized to Natalie after Joshuah told him he was being mean.  Natalie wasn’t sure anymore about their relationship.  Then, Sharon arrived and shocked the house.  They were all surprised and most were upset to see her since many of them wanted her to win.  All of them joined together in the living room of the sequester house and watched the DVD of Sharon’s eviction. 

Back to the important stuff, for the final part of the HOH competition, Ryan and Adam joined together live in the living room as host Julie Chen asked a series of questions.  Each jury member recorded a statement since leaving the house.  Chen would say the first part of each player’s statements and then give Ryan and Adam two options as to how they completed it.  For example, Sharon said the biggest lie she told in the house was…A-that her back hurt causing her to drop out of the glass box…B-she never told a lie in the house.  The player getting the most correct out of six would win the right to evict one last person.  It was a short game leaving Ryan victorious over Adam 3-2.

After Ryan’s win, he was tasked with voting either Adam or Sheila out live.  But first, each was given the opportunity to plead their case.  Adam said he hoped Ryan would make the right choice.  Sheila cried and said that going to the final two would change her life.  After a few words, Ryan stood up and evicted Sheila, the oldest player in the house.  They all shared a group hug; she picked up her bag and walked out of the house becoming the final evictee.

In her exit interview, Sheila said she was devastated because she thought Adam would have won the HOH and taken her to the end. 

It started with 16 and now it’s down to two – Ryan and Adam.  Who will win the $500,000 prize?  Find out on the season finale Sunday night at 8 PM.
