Carrie Underwood To Perform On Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

American Idol winner and country music star Carrie Underwood will perform live from Times Square during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008.  The special airs Monday, December 31 on ABC.  Ryan Seacrest, also of American Idol fame, will serve as co-host with Dick Clark.

Besides winning American Idol, Carrie Underwood has won two Grammys, four CMA Awards, five ACM Awards, four American Music Awards, eight Billboard Music Awards, four CMT Awards and two People’s Choice Awards .  Underwood’s new album “Carnival Ride” sold over half a million copies in the first week. 

In addition to Carrie Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba from Dancing With The Stars will be making a special appearance in the show’s first hour.  Carrie Ann Inaba’s new show Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann debuts in early January.

The special runs for three and one half hours.  Airtimes are Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008 from 10PM to 11PM ET, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008 Part 1 from 11:35PM to 1:05AM ET, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008 Part 2 from 1:05AM to 2:05AM ET.
