Reality TV Magazine’s Top Ten Reality TV Stars Of 2007

Because there are just so many reality TV stars out there, Reality TV Magazine is once again breaking our editorial picks top ten lists of reality TV stars for the year into three different categories.  The categories are Top Ten Male Reality TV Stars Of 2007, Top Ten Female Reality TV Stars of 2007, and Top Ten Celebrity Reality TV Stars of 2007.  The celebrity category includes reality TV judges, producers and hosts, as well as regular celebrities who have appeared on reality TV.

Among the male reality TV stars, there was one American Idol finalist that became a pop culture phenomenon.  The entire country got swept up in Sanjaya-mania.  While some people were starving themselves in protest of him being on the show, others admired his determination and confidence.  For awhile, there was no more well-known reality TV star than Sanjaya Malakar.  In what proved to be one of the best Big Brother seasons ever, Evel Dick Donato proved to be one of the most interesting Big Brother contestants ever.  Is it too early to have another Big Brother All Stars and bring back Evel Dick?

Among the female reality TV stars, this was the Year of the Hough.  Julianne Hough made her first appearance on Dancing with the Stars in 2007 and showed what she is capable of by posting back-to-back wins.  So You Think You Can Dance 3 pulled together the most talented group of contestants ever in the history of the show, and Sabra Johnson won a well-deserved victory over some very talented fellow competitors.

Among the celebrity reality TV stars, Nigel Lythgoe, Simon Cowell, and Ryan Seacrest continued to leverage their Idol fame into even greater success.  As a producer and a judge Nigel Lythgoe has built So You Think You Can Dance into such a high quality, successful show that we can overlook The Next Great American Band.  Simon Cowell has also helped create a Summer time hit with America’s Got Talent, and Ryan Seacrest continues to hold what seems like a billion hosting jobs.
