Ruben Studdard To Release The Return

American Idol 2 winner Ruben Studdard will release his long awaited sophomore R&B/soul album, The Return on September 26th. The Return will be released on J Records and is the follow-up to Ruben’s debut album, Soulful, which was released in 2003. Soulful has sold nearly 2 million copies and was recognized with coveted awards and nominations from the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, BET Awards, NAACP Awards, Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Awards, and Teen Choice Awards.

The P.A. Coming To Fuse

Pity the lowly production assistant. To get a foot in the door of the exciting world of music television, they are required to perform an endless multitude of menial tasks—tasks which include the requisite runs for coffee and pizza, the boss’ dry cleaning and of course, emptying waste baskets and color collating scripts.  Once in a while, there’s a brush with fame…when they get to walk (and clean up after) the pit bull owned by the mega-selling rapper who drops by the fuse studio. And with every task, there’s a steady chorus of well-meaning ribbing, as the new guy or girl pays their dues in hopes of moving up the corporate ladder.  Introducing Josh Taub—fuse’s real-life production assistant.  Josh, along with his buddy Dave Murden, are the unlikely creators of fuse’s new weekly series The P.A.

Treasure Hunters – Miss USA Eliminated

Hell’s Kitchen - Sara Eliminated

Sara_hells_kitchenFor the reward competition, Chef Gordon Ramsay tells the four remaining chefs that they will each get to run a restaurant for lunch.  Whoever prepares the best lunch dish gets a guaranteed spot in the final three.  The chefs are blindfolded and taken to their restaurants which turn out to be catering trucks.  The chefs prepare lunch for hungry construction workers, and the construction workers vote for the lunch they liked the best and for the lunch they liked the least.  The dish liked the least is Heather’s, and the dish liked the best is Virginia’s.

Mark Steines, co-anchor of Entertainment Tonight, has been signed as the host of Gold Rush, the groundbreaking seven-week interactive reality event created by Mark Burnett Productions and AOL.com beginning September 13th.  Steines has been with Entertainment Tonight, the #1 magazine program in syndication, since 1995.  As host, Steines will offer a preview of the game on the new Gold Rush teaser site at www.aol.com/goldrush beginning today (July 31, 2006).   Once the game begins, Steines will provide insider tips and blow-by-blow insights into each round’s on-location finale.

American Idol - Why No Record Deal For Elliott Yamin?

Now that Katharine McPhee has finally shown up for the American Idol Tour, maybe everyone will start focusing on an even more puzzling question.  The American Idol 5 finalists seem to be having great luck landing record deals with one blaring exception.  Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, Chris Daughtry, and Kellie Pickler have all signed deals, but third place finisher Elliott Yamin is still unsigned.
