After defeating Katharine McPhee in the American Idol finale, Taylor Hicks won a recording contract. Taylor Hicks has not officially claimed his price and has signed a recording deal with Simon Fuller and 19 Recordings Limited, in conjunction legendary music man Clive Davis, Chairman of BMG U.S., and Arista Records.

FOX’s remarkable 2005-2006 season ended with the network scoring huge victories for the week, the May Sweep, and the 2005-2006 broadcast season. FOX dominated the final week of the 2005-2006 broadcast season, winning six out of seven nights (for the first time ever, excluding baseball) among the key demo Adults 18-49 and out-performing its nearest competitor by 3 full ratings points for the week. In addition, FOX ranked No. 1 for the fourteenth consecutive week among Adults 18-49, marking a new network record and the most consecutive weekly wins in season by a network in nearly a decade.

MTV’s “Cheyenne” will premiere on Wednesday, May 31st at 10:30PM ET/PT, immediately following the highly anticipated premiere of “The Hills.” In this latest reality series, MTV cameras will capture the daily routine of one girl, Cheyenne Kimball, as she tries to make it in the music industry at the young age of 15 years old.

NBC and Mark Burnett Productions announced today that 1998 gold medalist and three-time U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey Olympian and Harvard Graduate Angela Ruggiero will join 17 other candidates selected to ‘interview’ for the title of "The Apprentice" during season six of the hit show. NBC’s "The Apprentice" hosted by Donald Trump returns in January on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT with new twists, new geography – shot exclusively in Southern California – new boardrooms and 18 new candidates.

BravoTV.com antes up for another online poker tournament this summer, kicking off with the new season premiere of the Bravo original series "Celebrity Poker Showdown." This year’s online tournament grand prize winner will receive a non-speaking walk-on role on the NBC hit series "Las Vegas," including round trip airfare and hotel accommodations in Los Angeles for two. Filmed entirely in New Orleans, this new season of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" will donate the million-dollar jackpot to Hurricane Katrina Charities in support of the rebuilding effort. After watching the penultimate episode of The Apprentice 5, we started wondering how The Apprentice 5 finale will ever live up to last season’s shocker when Trump tried to hire both Randal and Rebecca, but Randal refused to share the Apprentice title. Our guess is that Trump might be setting it up to fire both remaining candidates and hire no one. Both Lee and Sean seem to be encountering major issues with their tasks, and it’s very possible that neither of them will run a successful event.

With American Idol 5 officially over, it’s time to take a look back and reflect on the season. There were surprise eliminations, phone line conspiracies, and show-stopping performances.
